Uncle Danny

My brother Dan came up from Iowa to visit. They kids were so excited to see him. They love him so much. We sure miss having the boys ( Dan and Jon) around. They are both great uncles. Kate calls him nanny. It is so cute.

This is a picture I took of Cody playing in Grandma Jeri's sandbox. He drew a heart in the sand for me. He is such a sweetie.

GONE FISHIN

I took the kids fishing again yesterday. It is so much fun. I love watching them. They get so excited and then so bored so quick when they don't catch anything. Jake thinks that he has to change his lour every 5 minutes. I think Cody gets bored right away. They make me laugh so hard. They will see a fish jump in the lake, they quick reel in their lines and cast them out right where that fish was, thinking they are going to get it. Jake got some fishing stuff from my grandpa who fishes in Lake Superior. Jake tries to use these HUGE fish things to catch something in this little lake. I don't know what he thinks he is going to catch, maybe a shark or something :) Kate just likes to poke a pole into the water. Yesterday she was pulling out seaweed with the end of her pole and whipping it up at me. It was gross, but she loved it. Again, at times like these I marvel that I have the opportunity to help raise these little spirits. My heart is filled with joy and gratitude when I watch them.

Cute!

We were at my grandma's house last night and Kate got her pants all wet so my grandma dug out a pair of this bib overalls for her to wear. She looked so cute in them. Almost like a little farmer:)

2nd day of school

It was the boys second day of school today. They were soooooo excited they were up and dressed and ready in 2 minutes. They were so cute.

First day of kindergarten

It was Cody's first day of kindergarten today. He was so brave. I could tell he was nervous but it held his head high .The first two pictures are of him before school this morning.

The last three pictures are after school this afternoon. He was excited to get home and to tell me about his big day. I can't believe he is already in kindergarten. People say it all of the time and it is so true, kids grow up way too fast. It feels like just yesterday he was just a little guy. I am very happy for him. He is a shy boy, but he overcame his fears today. He is excited to go back tomorrow.


It is so different without the boys at home during the day. I have plenty to do with Kaitlynn, but I liked talking with the boys during the day and playing games with them. :( :( I wish they didn't have to grow up anymore. I think they are perfect right now. The first day of school is harder on me than it is on the kids . I just love them so much. I want to be there to protect them in case kids are mean to them or if they get hurt. I know that they couldn't learn and grow up to be great young men if I was always around so........ I am excited about the young boys they are turning into. Little gentlemen, always ( almost always ) willing to help out.

First day of 2nd grade!

It was Jake's first day of second grade today. He loves school. I couldn't get him there fast enough this morning. He didn't even want me to drop him off at his door :( He is getting so independent. He is a very good big brother for Cody. He helped him out so much this morning. He wanted Cody to have a good first day of kindergarten. Such a sweetie.
